Shift Operations Manager - PM

What are you going to do?

In this role you will manage all aspects of inbound warehouse and operational processes to ensure day to day operation runs smoothly.

You will be required to travel to our site in Enfield for training on our new Warehouse Management System in the first week of your induction. Mediq will cover travel and accommodation costs. Your working hours are between 2pm  and 10.30pm .

Responsibilities:

  • Discharge duties in a safe manner in accordance with relevant methodical approach to work.
  • To manage operational processes to ensure that all customer orders are dispatched correctly, via scheduling people and equipment to optimise efficiency.
  • Planning workloads to ensure that goods are stored, picked, processed and loaded onto vehicles in accordance with Company stipulated KPI’s.
  • Ensuring company procedures, systems and practices are adhered to. (E.g. Company health and safety standards).
  • Assisting in the delivery and associated change process of any new business or existing customers changes, through effective communication to all affected warehouse staff and ensuring that any outcomes dependent on operations are delivered to timescale.
  • Motivate team to perform to the required productivity levels through effective communication, coaching, encouragement and team building measures.
  • Manage outbound operations to ensure that goods are stored, picked, loaded and dispatched OTIF on a daily basis
  • Produce monthly report of outbound operations for presentation to Line Managers and Directors where appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with all staff to ensure that all departments are fully aware of results, targets and expectations on all aspects of operational KPI’s
  • Work collaboratively with transport function to ensure loading and delivery issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Liaise with sales and customer service functions to investigate and resolve customer queries and complaints.
  • Ensure that excellent levels of communication are maintained with all staff to foster good employee relations through active listening and understanding of people issues. To include full debrief with other managers
  • Induct, train, develop and assess new and existing team members to meet high standards of work performance.
  • Promote safe working practices amongst team members, thus ensuring that H&S standards comply with Company policy and targets.
  • Ensure achievement of high standards of housekeeping/hygiene and personnel presentation amongst team members.
  • Ensure that any reportable faults are either acted on or reported to the appropriate person.
  • Reviewing orders to ensure continual flow of products, identifying risks, issues, and mitigating these where possible whilst ensuring communication with the cross functional teams to resolve in a timely manner

 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced leader who can demonstrate running a successful warehouse operation. You will have experience in a fast paced operation with proven and demonstrable people management skills.

  • Experience of high volume, low margin distribution industry
  • Experience of using a tier 1 WMS system, preferably Red Prairie (Blue Yonder)
  • Confident communicator
  • Demonstrate effective team management
  • Ability to apply KPI's to measure and improve operational performance
  • Excellent problem solving and leadership qualities
