IT Business Systems Manager – Castle Donington

We are recruiting for a IT Business Systems Manager to join our IT team in the UK. This is a pivotal role in leading business systems initiatives and change. Reporting into the Head of IT, this role will act as a bridge between business operations and IT, overseeing the development, implementation and optimization of business systems and software across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Head of IT to develop and implement the organization’s business systems strategy.
  • Assist with the deployment, integration, and optimization of new business systems or upgrades to existing systems.
  • Work closely with internal IT teams and external vendors to ensure systems are fully operational and secure.
  • Establish and manage the PMO for business systems projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, adherence to project management methodologies, and effective resource allocation.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Develop project documentation including roadmaps, status reports, and training materials.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions during system upgrades and new implementations, ensuring stakeholder engagement and minimizing resistance.
  • Oversee the management of business systems, ensuring they are optimized for performance, reliability, and security. Proactively identify areas for system improvement and propose solutions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess system needs and provide tailored solutions, gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and communicate project progress effectively.
  • Deputise for Head of IT when required.
  • Facilitate communication between business users and IT to ensure a seamless understanding of requirements and capabilities.
  • Ensure data integrity across business systems by implementing best practices for data governance.
  • Generate reports and analytics to support business decision-making.
  • Manage system access and security protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with software vendors and service providers to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the budget for IT business systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: : Identify opportunities for system enhancements and implement changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

 

 

What are we looking for? 

We are looking for someone with a strategic mindset who is able to manage key stakeholder relationships and have a strong understanding of business processes and workflows. You will have project management experience and be able to develop and implement change management strategies across the business.

  • Ideally Batchelors degree qualified or higher in a relevant business related discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in IT management, business systems management, or related roles, with a strong focus on project management and change management.
  • Experience with enterprise business platforms, (e.g., ERP systems, CRM software, WMS, TMS, eComm platforms, data analysis tools,
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Project Management Certification: PMP, Prince2, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions (e.g., SaaS applications).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide teams through change.
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
  • Familiarity with database management and data governance frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with a strong commitment to achieving project goals and improving business processes.
